PMS color:
An international system used to mix inks to standard colors used by printers.
PMT:
Abbreviated name for photomechanical transfer. Often used to make position prints.
PPI:
The number of pixels per inch displayed on a computer monitor. Commonly used to refer to the relative resolution of an image, with 300 usually held to be print quality. Compare with DPI.
Pad:
To bind by applying glue along one edge of a stack of sheets.
Page count:
Total number of pages in a book including blanks.
Page proofs:
A proof output to plain paper before the entire job is printed.
Pagination:
The numbering of pages in a book.
Pallet:
Wooden platform used as a base for loading and moving paper and printed products.
Pantone matching system:
A registered trade name, system of color matching used in computer software, paper and inks.
Paper distributor:
Merchant selling paper wholesale to printers and other buyers of large quantities.
